Three Ways to Safely Clean Wood Cabinets
Wood kitchen cabinets are a classic and provide a good return on investment. So if you’re thinking about installing wood kitchen cabinets or trying to figure out how to keep your current ones clean, check out the following tips to keep them looking like new.
- Don’t Use Abrasive Cleaners – wood kitchen cabinets are durable but they should be cleaned with care. Make sure you don’t use abrasive cleaners that can easily scratch wood. Instead, opt for gentler cleaners or try an organic and environmentally-friendly solution: vinegar and water.
- Don’t Forget Cabinet Hardware – kitchen cabinet hardware can have dust and grime build-up too. To keep hardware parts looking like new and in working order, use soap and water on a soft cloth and wipe clean. Frequently doing this prevents future build-up.
- Dusting – frequent dusting saves you from major cleaning jobs in the future. Dust that is occasionally wiped away with a soft cloth won’t lead to tough to remove grime over time.
