Kitchen Cabinets with Minimized Dead Space

Corner Kitchen CabinetsInstalling kitchen cabinets on your wall space is pretty straight forward but it can get a bit tricky on lower cabinets when you reach a corner.  There are a couple of ways to minimize the amount of dead space that occurs when trying to turn a corner with your base kitchen cabinets.

Options for Avoiding Dead Space

Diagonal Corner Base Cabinets are most commonly used to provide corner space.  These types of cabinets normally measure up to 36” and provide more storage space and easier accessibility.  Some come standard with bi-fold doors and Lazy Susan spin outs.

Blind Base Cabinets offer another solution for the corner cabinet when both walls cannot be used.  This type of cabinet utilizes only one door of a normal two door cabinet.  While it can supply storage space, the accessibility to the back of the cabinet can be awkward.

Avoid as much dead space as possible at the corners of your base cabinetry by selecting an option for corner cabinetry which will allow you some storage space.
